Explore Science, History, and Art from a biblical perspective

Each day we will take a topic and weave it through the subjects kids learn.

We want kids to imagine as we tell engaging historical stories, learn how to recreate it with play and hands-on activities, see how it relates to God's plan, and learn how it relates to their world through science experiments. Overall kids will learn that God has a purpose and plan throughout everything, as they see the same themes woven throughout every subject.

A Day in Elementary Explorers Class

PLAY

Kids will start with a few play options such as sensory stations, creative projects, and purposeful play.

An interactive group activity such as blocks, puppets, and kitchen toys will be available to foster imagination.

TEACHING TIME

During our first teaching time we will cover a story in history. As we explore this story, kids will dig into an array of subjects such as geography, art, and literature. The class will do a hands-on activity or project that connects to the key ideas from our lesson. This will allow for kids with all kinds of learning styles to engage with the concepts.

DEVOTION

Kids will have a time to share highs and lows from their week. We will read through a short story that is designed to build character followed by a prayer.

GYM/OUTSIDE

Our time outside will vary each day as we play on the playground equipment, explore our ten acres, play group games, and do some fitness exercises. We will be outside as much as possible during all parts of our day.

READ ALOUD

We will read through engaging narratives that dive into the lives of interesting people in history. These stories demonstrate good character and will inspire kids to imagine.

TEACHING TIME

Our second teaching time will focus on science exploration. The topics will loosely correspond with the history topics being studied. For example, when students are reading about the explorers of the untamed frontier, they will study the woodland habitat in science. Our goal is to help them understand scientific concepts and practically apply these ideas to the world around them. We will do projects and activities that fully engage the children.

SCIENCE

We want kids to discover scientific concepts and understand how it affects them and the world around them.

Each day the kids will explore science activities that correlate with the history they are studying.

For example, when kids learn about seafaring explorers,

they will study the seashore in their science.

HISTORY

We want kids to learn key points in American history and see God's plan throughout.

Kids will engage with history through captivating narratives and will remember them as they recreate them.

For example, when kids learn about seafaring explorers, they will build boats and test them.

GYM

Kids will engage in active play throughout the day. In addition to being outside for the hands-on portion of our lesson, we will also offer designated outdoor gym and playtime. During this time, we will do structured gym, explore the woods, build forts, play on the playground, and much more.

Playgroung
Books

ART

Kids will learn different basics in art such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and collages. We will dive into each day's lesson through creativity. To help kids remember the lesson, they will recreate it with art. For example, when kids learn about seafaring explorers, we will learn how to paint a landscape of the ocean.

READ ALOUD

We desire to spark kids' imaginations and interest in our lessons. Each morning we will read a chapter in a narrative that piques interest in what we are learning about and demonstrates good character qualities.

Kids Art

Although it is not required for your child/children to attend each session, it is highly encouraged. Our lessons will build through out the year as we take advantage of the different seasons.

*However your child will be able to jump right in if only one session is desired.

CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR THE WHOLE SCHOOL YEAR
